Why is my filter so important?

Is filtration really that important? Absolutely! It goes without saying, filtration is one of the main elements for the best experience, aesthetically, physically and in every way. Making sure that not only that you have a clean filter, but you have sufficient flow for filtration is essential.

It is my professional opinion that sand filters are inferior in the state of Florida, cartridge filters are second and DE filters are going to be the best option. It’s important to have a filter media that can be cleaned as often as necessary throughout the year. Use is going to have a direct reflection on how often the filter is cleaned, but just as important if not more important is the duration of time needed for proper filtration.

I have stated before it past articles that for every 10° the pool needs to run at least one hour. While timing is very important, make sure that you have a proper flow. Meaning that you don’t have any obstructions in the skimmers, the main drain, the vacuum lines and the pump baskets should be a main focus to every homeowner. As long as there are no obstructions in the flow, you should have plenty of circulation for the best filtration.

Water that filters properly will be clear and sanitary for use often.
