The importance of year-round Pool maintenance.

To some maintaining your pool in Florida doesn’t seem like the highest priority fourth and first quarter of the year. Be assured, it is crucial in the south to pay attention to your pool year around. It is something that I tell people that it never gets cold enough, long enough to let off of the gas because any point of the year your pool can turn green and become a massive expense if neglected.

Year-round sanitation, balanced Pool chemistry is something that is necessary throughout the year. It may be less expensive chemically in the colder months than the hotter months, but it is important to maintain consistent chemical readings here around. Keeping and maintaining proper water chemistry will keep to clarity, sanitation, and aesthetics perfect to your round.

Filtration, another major aspect of anything and everything that has to do with your pool. The water needs to be circulating at least one hour per 10°. If it is 80° outside then the pool should run eight hours per day. Some may suggest other numbers, but that is What I suggest in my professional opinion and experience. Keeping and maintaining proper levels of flow and cleaning your filter or paramount. It may be more during the hot months than in the cold months, but it needs to be paid attention to in Florida year around.

Agitation, this word is referencing brushing, cleaning, skimming and vacuuming. This also should be maintained year-round. If you don’t feel that, it’s something you want to do. Remember a pool is a luxury not a necessity in Florida. Be sure to hire a local cleaning company who can handle the task. Maintaining a clean surface will prolong the life of the surface and maintain a great aesthetic year-round.
